Our patented technologies, embedded in established OEM products as ClearSign Core™, and ClearSign Eye™ and other sensing configurations, enhance the performance of combustion systems and fuel safety systems in a broad range of markets, including the energy (upstream oil production and down-stream refining), commercial/industrial boiler, chemical, petrochemical, transport and power industries.
SEATTLE, May 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ClearSign Combustion Corporation (NASDAQ: CLIR) announced today Donald W. Kendrick, Ph.D., has joined the company's research and development team as Senior Vice President of Technology, reporting to Chief Technology Officer, Joe Colannino. Drawing on his 20 years of experience in the fields of power generation, renewable energy and product development, Dr. Kendrick will lead the R&D and product commercialization efforts for ClearSign's Duplex™ Technology as well as contribute to the Company's overall research and development programs.
"Donald has extensive experience in combustion and related sciences," said Steve Pirnat, ClearSign Chairman and CEO. "His deep industry knowledge and research and development experience will help expand and accelerate our commercialization efforts, as well as provide support for ongoing field installations."
"Donald joins the company at a very exciting time as we have recently validated at Aera Energy, LLC that Duplex technology achieves the industry's lowest NOx emissions and that it actually increases energy efficiency. Customer interest has been strong, as evidenced by our recently-announced commercial order to retrofit a 25 million Btu/h Once-Through Steam Generator (OTSG) for another California oil producer. As interest in California -- and now in Texas -- accelerates, Donald's technical and field experience will be an invaluable asset."
Donald Kendrick has authored more than 40 publications and papers in the fields of thermal sciences, fluid dynamics and combustion, and holds 12 patents. Prior to joining ClearSign, he served as Director and CTO of Lean Flame Inc., a company that commercializes disruptive, ultra-low emissions combustion systems for gas turbine applications. Previously, he was operations manager for United Technologies Corporation's Pratt & Whitney PulseDyne Division, where he worked to develop, commercialize and sell the SHOCKSystem™ Online Detonation Cleaning System. He has also served as the Aerothermal Department Head of Ramgen Power Systems, where he developed the first ever Trapped Vortex Combustor (TVC) for land-based gas turbine applications.
Dr. Kendrick has a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and both an MSc. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
